Hi,
I am drawing salary Rs.14,583 P/M & my friend drawing Rs. 20,000 P/M,
May i on what basis the medical allowance would be deducted.

1. Medical allowance is NOT a deduction. It is an allowance that is paid to you in cash with your other salary. If you can produce bills for the amount that is paid to you, it will be completely tax free, else it will be given to you after deducting income tax.
2. There is no basis for medical allowance. Every company has their own rule. Generally, as per income tax india rules, an amount of 15000 per annum is tax free. Anything over and above this amount is taxable.
